John 19:35

And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe.

The context of this verse is the crucifixion of Christ, and the prophecies during this crucifixion.  As the custom was, the soldiers would break the legs of those being crucified so that they could not use them to push up and take a breath.  But when they came to the Lord he was already dead and the soldier thrust the sword in the Lord’s side.  As the soldiers did these things to the Lord, those that were around saw these things and the things that were done are true; and the people that were around knew that these things were true, so that they might BELIEVE.

Living for Christ,
Keith
