Romans 5:1

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

We cannot go to heaven unless we are righteous, but there are none righteous no not one.  Yet we are declared righteous only one way and that is by faith.  We or anyone else could never be justified by works–doing good, or being good.  It is by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and His death on the cross for our sins.  The moment that we believe in the Lord and what He did for us then we will have peace with God.  What this means is that we are no longer enemies with God and will not receive the punishment for our sins.  Instead God is our Father and we are children of God receiving all that he has chosen to give us by His grace.  Why is it that we have peace and will receive all things, it is only through our Lord Jesus Christ.
