Philippians 3:9

Phil 3:9

And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

The first part of this chapter is one of the most important chapters to show that the law or the works of the law could never have given anyone righteousness. Paul makes it very clear as pertaining to the law that he was “blameless” but yet he makes such a wonderful statement in verse 9, that we are found in Christ, not in our sins, not in our works, but in the Son of God. Second he says “not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law”, you see that Paul did have righteousness by doing the works of the law, but it wasn’t God’s righteousness but Paul’s OWN righteousness. So what is the answer, “that which is through the faith of Christ”, it is Christ’s faithfulness to God the Father, and to finish the work on the cross that we receive the righteousness of God. How do we get it? It is simply “BY FAITH”.

Rejoicing in Grace,
