Ephesians 4:30

Ephesians 4:30

And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

As members of the body of Christ we are not to cause sadness to the Holy Spirit and I have always wondered how do we do this?  We are complete in Christ, our sins are totally forgiven, and we are seated with Christ in heavenly places.  The only way that I know that we would cause grief or sorrow to the Holy Spirit is by doing the things mentioned in the context from verses 17 – 29.  We are not to walk as others who are not saved, we are not to be given over to lasciviousness or filthiness, nor are we to lie, we are not to steal, and we are not to talk filthy.  Why is this?  Because we have been sealed by the Holy Spirit as mature children of God and we are supposed to act as a mature believer.  So as you live your daily lives don’t grieve the Holy Spirit by living the way that you want to live and justifying your ungodliness but rather live godly and righteously in Christ Jesus.

Rejoicing in Grace,

Keith

  1. Are you saying a man can be saved and live in the flesh for his entire life.

    • I am saying that the way that YOU live has nothing to do with your salvation but instead putting faith in Christ and the live that he gave is what saves us.
