1 Thessalonians 5:15

See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.

There are many people that do things wrong to us and our normal reaction is to get them back but this is not what grace teaches us.  Paul tells us not to react and get back a person and do wrong to them because they have done wrong to us.  I know that many think that the Lord taught an eye for an eye but we are not living under the law, but under grace.  So then what are we to do?  The opposite of doing wrong to a person is to do good toward them.  Most people expect retaliation but when they do something bad to someone else and when the other person reacts in kindness it kind of gets them off guard.  So when others do things to us that are wrong, then we need to not only do what is good for ourselves but we need to treat others the same way that we would want to be treated.
